Linking is the student's choice
A parent account connects through a short-lived link code that the student generates in their own profile. There is no way to attach to a student who did not share a code, and the student can revoke access at any moment — revocation takes effect immediately. The full mechanics are described on the parents page.
What you see — and what you never see
You see summaries: the exam being prepared for, the target, the projected score with its range, study consistency, Practice and Exam progress, skill statuses and recent completed tests.
You never see recordings, written responses, per-question answers or the student's raw mistakes. That boundary is enforced by the server, not by politeness — the parent view is produced by a filter that strips private data before it ever leaves the system.
What actually helps
Protect a regular study slot; short, regular sessions build more progress than rare marathons. If a test is sitting unfinished, encourage completing it — completed tests are what move the projection. For Speaking practice, quiet time and a working microphone matter more than advice.
The parent view's own suggestions follow the same logic: they are generated from the student's real state, and they never shame — 'inactive' is an invitation, not an accusation. You can preview exactly what a linked parent sees in the parent view demo.
